Cipriano graduated from Ravensbourne University London in Digital Film Production with a
First Class Honours and he is particularly excited about directing. His career goal is to work
on music videos, commercials and other short-form content. He likes the idea of alternative
ways of representing concepts, and throughout his work he has strived to create singular
contexts for the understanding of ideas. He is strongly influenced by the abstraction and
mystification within the visual medium from artists that evade literal explanations and engage
the viewer in the process of interpretation.
During the past years, Cipriano has taken the necessary steps to develop experience in
different areas of filmmaking in order to improve his overall knowledge. Before university, he
achieved a Distinction in Creative Media Production and Technology at Westminster
Kingsway College where he started out editing and making his own visual effects for videos.
Later, he transitioned to photography as his interest shifted to the creation of images. This
motivation for learning the field led to some of his photography work to be exhibited at the
Photographer’s Gallery. He also began working in lighting on sets so that he could learn
about cinematography, including on a Channel 4 TV show, music videos for high profile
artists and award-winning shorts. His last work was a music video set in a single location
about a dancer undergoing internal conflict and longing for self-liberation, a project he mostly
self-financed.
Eventually, Cipriano is looking forward to creating a body of work that looks into human
psychology through the lens of abstraction and explores the interpersonal relationships
determined by social constructs of race, class and gender. He also hopes to collaborate with
like-minded artists and content producers to create varied and intersectional work with which
to captivate audiences.
