Custom built AR enabled billboard created in partnership with the BUILDHOLLYWOOD family of JACK, JACK ARTS and DIABOLICAL launches on Sunday 18th July on Hassard Street, Hackney Road, E2 7RD.

Learning and living, we adapted and worked through every challenge within the four walls we call home. Solving each and every problem in our own unique way.’

The class of ’21 has faced an unprecedented challenge, but on the BA(Hons) Advertising & Brand Design at Ravensbourne University London, we prefer to focus on opportunity. The work produced by this exceptionally talented group is, by necessity, homemade, but their creativity is not limited by four walls. 

Online learning has created the possibility of richer and more dynamic relationships between our students and the creative community. It has enabled them to engage beyond their course and connect with our professional network. They have worked with the immersive entertainment venue, the Outernet, been mentored by the founder of AKQA, James Hilton, and been advised by the likes of BBC Creative, Moving Brands, Off White, ITV Creative, Studio Moross, Studio Blup, Squint Opera, Conran Design, Bulletproof and Faber Books. 

Their experience is not better or worse than previous graduates, but it is certainly different, and as they enter the industry, they are perfectly positioned to take advantage of new opportunities that are starting to emerge. Their graduate show is HOMEMADE, but they have used this as an opportunity to redefine what a graduate show might look like. There is no physical exhibition – instead, it centres around an online platform – www.homemadegrads.com. The audience will be invited to connect to this platform via a beautifully printed QR key card (look out for these in the post!) 

We have also partnered with the BUILDHOLLYWOOD family of JACK, JACK ARTS and DIABOLICAL to create an exciting interactive billboard that will provide the venue for our launch party, where invited industry guests will be able to connect to a specially designed AR experience via their smartphones.
