Charlotte Anderson

Charlotte is a mature, unique designer specialising in fashion and design. She is very enthusiastic and loves to get creative when it comes to fashion. She aspires to think outside the box and design something that’s thought-provoking and unforgettable. For the FMP, she decided to base the project on how identity can affect the human anatomy as this is one of her passionate interests which she wanted to understand further. Her work often expresses a sense of character and explores the true detail of design through function and form, constantly analysing the relationship between accessibility and aesthetic. She wanted to link the 18th-century identity of women where corsets were used to accentuate their figure and the intricacy of human anatomy. She took aspects from every part of her research and applied them to her garment. A spine down the back inspired by Iris Van Herpen, a gathered corset down the front, and elongated sleeves to show body extension. She wanted to keep a sense of beauty within the garment as people change their anatomy so that their identity is more aesthetically pleasing.

Charlotte has been noticed by a Savile Row tailor, Kathryn Sargent. She had been offered work placement, however, due to COVID-19 she has been put on a waiting list till restrictions lift completely. She has also been offered multiple different work experience opportunities in film settings, such as the last Star Wars film.
