Iman Hilton
‘Confused Wasian’ is the latest collection from London-based, bi-racial designer Iman Hilton.
Iman explains, “As someone who comes from two extreme opposite cultures: western English and conservative Pakistani, I’ve always felt neither here nor there. This collection was a journey to find and create my own identity by combining traditional Pakistani wear with British streetwear.”
The domes of mosques inspired the form of the oversized skirt that shares elements of a lehnga, traditional Pakistan clothing. Born and brought up in South London, Iman combined traditional cultural influences with that staple of London streetwear: the puffer. The result is a uniquely Wasian answer to contemporary urban fashion.
