The colour changing sleeve
The colour changing sleeveChecking blood sugars is a constant job for type 1 diabetics. Checking blood sugars is extremely important in the management of your diabetes, and without good management, and increased sugars overtime, a lot of complications can arise. Most people with type 1 diabetes fear needles and blood, and can lead to poor management of blood sugars. As someone who isn't the biggest fan of needles myself, I wanted to create something that seemed less daunting in the eyes of a diabetic.
The colour changing sleeve
The colour changing sleeveThe idea of the colour changing sleeve, allows someone with type 1 diabetes to constantly see when sugars are dropping or rising. The sleeve is programmed by tiny microneedles to constantly read blood sugar levels and change colour according to your readings. For example, red means levels are high, neutral/white colour means sugars are of a healthy normal range, and green means they are dropping.
The colour changing sleeve
The colour changing sleeveThis sleeve can allow you to know the exact moment your sugars drop/rise and prevent sugars from dropping too low, or rising too high, where immediate action can be taken. The sleeve can also allow family members and loved ones to know exactly when your sugars are high/low, meaning that there is physical evidence indicating a change in levels. It means a better management on your type 1 diabetes. A less daunting experience. And a longer, happier, healthier life.
