Kai Eves
Kai's work features action sports, people and moving image. His photography began by taking a camera along on bike rides. Cycling remains a focal point of his work. More recently, Kai has ventured into environmental portraiture with his series documenting student midwives and moving image for his Final Major Project film.
An image captured in a popular riding location called Belmont on the outskirts of Bristol. It is known to locals for its impressively-sized jumps.
An image from my photobook GLIDE. This book features images documenting cyclists and commuters in London, with a twist - their modes of transport are invisible.
An image captured in Swinley forest where the mountain bike trails often wind through where the forestry team have been felling trees.
An image from a series documenting student midwives in their home environments. What I have seen, from getting to know these student midwives, is that midwifery is more of a way of life than a job. Only those that are truly passionate about midwifery can succeed.
A film shot for my final major project. The film takes you across the city of Bristol by bike, stopping at two mountain bike locations along the way.
