La’Tia Smith

Tia Smith is a soon to be graduate from Ravensbourne University and currently resides in London. Her style is heavily influenced by the likes of anime and cartoons, as it was her first exposure to art with such a vivid selection of colours. From Cartoons such as Sonic X to anime such as Tokyo Mew Mew Power and Pretty Cure, she found herself fascinated by whimsical settings of worlds filled with fantastical creatures and magic. Due to her being a die hard fan of Sonic X and Tokyo Mew Mew Power, she began to draw her favourite characters from the shows, as well as finding reference pictures online to copy from.

Tia’s love for cartoons and anime soon spread to video games such as Kingdom Hearts, where she once again fell in love with the characters, and drew the weapons and characters within the series. By fusing the 3 worlds together, they helped her to create her illustrative identity where she created digital worlds filled with fun and colorful ideas. Art has always been a topic that she has been drawn to, but not something that she had wanted to pursue due to her lack of confidence when it comes to her work. However, she proceeded to do Fine Art in both GCSE and A-Level, before then receiving her Foundation Diploma for Design and Media, and decided to pursue Illustration. The world of Illustration is vast and she intends to try and voyage through it all.

The Lovers
The LoversThis is the second tarot card I created for my Final Major Project. I incorporated the main three character's hands to symbolise the fact that their destinies are intertwined with one another.
Ghost Detective
Ghost DetectiveThis illustration was for a client brief, in which we had to redesign character cards for the game: Codenames. I decided to go with a narrative of ghost detectives working with "living" detectives.
Living Detective
Living DetectiveThis is another character card for the Codenames brief. This illustration is of one of the 2 "Living" detective cards that a team would have. I wanted to have loud colours in this illustration to symbolise "the vibrancy of life".
The Stacks
The StacksThis logo design was created for an ident brief from Framestore. This particular logo design was inspired by "Ready Player One" and "The Stacks" that the population within the movie lived in.
Hirsuitism
HirsuitismThis collage was created to bring awareness to PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome). For this project, I created illustrations and collages such as this one that went alongside text which went into depth about PCOS and its symptoms.
