Milda Gatelyte

Milda Gatelyte is a creative and strategic BA (Hons) Fashion Buying and Brand Management graduate.

During her studies, Milda did considerable research regarding sustainability, innovation, and changing consumer demands. Responsible production and positive fashion inspiration were the main focus of each of her projects. Also, her keen interest in fashion buying has driven her to specialise in designing technical CADs, trend forecasting, and range planning.

In her second year of studies, together with a group of 2 other FBBM and 3 fashion students, Milda has developed a sustainable denim brand “Éphémère” and its first capsule collection, which won 3rd Place at Ravensbourne x KingPins Show Denim Innovation Project. Additionally, she was selected as one of the three students from Fashion Buying/Fashion Design/Fashion Accessory Design courses for a trip to Valencia, Spain to see the headquarters of the sustainable garment finishing technology company Jeanologia.

Her final year project, a unisex safety workwear brand "Works." was selected as one of the top three finalists for the considered fashion award by the Graduate Fashion Foundation due to its sustainable, societal, and ethical values. The judges were impressed by the insight and responsible consideration behind the gap in the market research and brand development.

The future of fashion is responsible, innovative and inclusive. These three values are what created Works. - a unisex brand of responsibly made safety workwear.

Research has shown, that the current offering of safety workwear is limited. Consumers agree, that most workwear that is available is dull and unappealing. Also, there is a huge increase of women joining industries such as construction and carpentry. However, the workwear industry is failing to adapt to this change as most key players do not offer any safety workwear for women.

Throughout considerate production and societal awareness, Works. aims to create products that serve both hard-working men and women.

Works. is here to listen, understand, improve and protect.
