Beccy’s creative style focuses on the use of narrative in the design process; she uses material, texture, light, and space to develop and conceptualise architectural ideas that have meaning to users. Her ideas are illustrated through the use of hand-drawings, computer-generated models and physical hand modelling; the combination of which allows her, in a tangible way, to introduce and develop experiential moments that are integral to the whole design. This allows an intimate relationship to be created between the users and the architecture.

Her Final Major Project ‘Rethinking Ritual’ confronts the relationship between the deceased and the living. Offering a more sustainable alternative to burial systems through the use of a fungus called mycelium, the project also explores the importance and the definition of ritual around death by those of us remaining.
