Sammy Gabrria-Nivas
Sammy has been interested in the creative arts being an active member of the national drama organization ‘Stage coach’. He studied a diploma in Media Production at Stratford Upon Avon College where he made his first short films and started his blog.
Highlights include:
• Stagecoach - Bronze, Silver, Gold, Red and Mahogany Awards.
• Stratford College - Certificate of Excellence ‘Most Improved Filmmaker’ and ‘Persistent Effort’.
Sammy studied BA Digital Film Production degree at Ravensbourne University. He studied units which were sound art/experimental composition and special/visual effects.
Sammy was diagnosed as Dyslexic in 2019 and has valued the support from the Seeds program. Through overcoming personal barriers he aims to support others through community forums.
He will be participating in the National Film Television School Masters in sound design as it provides a specialisation within the broader disciplines of film and television.
Sammy has the ambition to develop a career that utilises skills in sound design. He aims to work in a variety of different fields; animation, games, film, and TV at a post-production house progressing to freelance work. He also has a goal to experience working abroad e.g. America.
An important attitude towards his work is to ‘keep on learning' as there is so much more growth and experience.
