Ester Wikström
Ester is a passionate multi-disciplinary communication designer who gets wickedly excited by small ideas executed through purposeful storytelling. With a background as an internationally competing graphic designer (seriously), she respects the craft behind the design and the purpose behind the craft. With her work, Ester tells human stories through modern design, which has led her to both win a D&AD New Blood Pencil and be showcased in the annual Secret 7'' exhibition.
D&AD New Blood Winning Entry, For The Procrastinators case study. – 60% of young adults suffer from stress due to the pressure to always stay productive. To battle our time norms, we developed a campaign that celebrates people who buck the trend: the procrastinators.
For The Procrastinators, Product Design – We developed the world's first smartwatch where time isn't divided into equal intervals but by the procrastinator's internal clock.
One Step Ahead, for Secret 7''. – For Secret 7's 7th anniversary, I developed a cover concept for Aretha Franklin’s “One Step Ahead”, inspired by the feeling of being stuck in a relationship.
Where The Music Starts, interactive AR concept. – An interactive AR campaign concept that celebrates that Denmark street is historically where everyday people turned into internationally loved legacies: It's where British music started.
Where The Music Starts, Print Campaign. – To complement the AR campaign, I developed a print campaign that highlights the tiny encounters & events that shaped everyday people into legacies.
